iN [s]CissorS ® - The Veratrine Evangelicum iN [s]CissorS ® - The Veratrine Evangelicum [MPR096]

Before reading of the artist’s intentions when composing ‘The Veratrine Evangelicum’ the music called to the subterrene and in particular brought to mind a particular story by Harry Houdini, ghost-written by the inimitable H. P. Lovecraft, of the escape artist’s capture and descent into a pyramid and the gloomed fane within where unspeakable horrors laid waiting to be awakened by the rituals of swarthy priests. Whereas Houdini did escape, there is no such freedom for the listener during ‘The Veratrine Evangelicum’, which as the artist notates is indeed based on the under-earth woven with religious overtones. >

Chthonic anchorites cluster and make obeisance in the pulsing deep, their meager lighting flickering upon their faces while the darkness overheard swims with the spawn of the deity genuflected to. Chants briefly illume the roiling earth-shuddering drones, like the faces of the priests, however, they are sparse and swallowed by the insuperable gloam. Rituals are announced to the chiming of bell-twisted noise and melodies flow as piano shadows the background to the insouciant seeking of blown reeds. Not just ritual ambience, ‘The Veratrine Evangelicum’ skews squeal and noisome oscillations into the abysm where the deeper one gets the closer to the priests’ deity one comes.

Straight outta space. There is a very subtle creepy sound every so often. This vision of creepy crawlies running around. There is something very unnerving about this album, which I cannot quite put my finger on. Very atmospheric and haunting all at once it makes your hair on your neck stand on end.... this album makes you feel like your in your own sci-fi horror movie.

Total and blissful ambience. Great tracks here with calming soothing sound.
This album consists of one 30 minute long track of straight dark ambient drones, with heavy guitar work. Awesome listening and along with previous esper releases, this is a totally amazing piece of work.

I enjoy hearing melodic themes elegantly expressed in drone. The album features determination on the exploration of sound, delving into, what sound "should be." The flow of the album is great. It really does feel like an adventure. This is a album of ambience, noise, glitch, and chill.
These pieces are wrapped up and put together using technological niceties, with an outcome that has an eluding landscape. "Version of Reality/Virtuality" is Darkslider heavily inspired sound through a digital realm. Frosty, ambient keyboard drones, perhaps opening a door into an unreal future. i am Esper has managed to combine ambient landscapes with discerning form. Spaces is a rumbling and rolling landscape of field recordings and human element. There is a dark underbelly to all...

wow!!! upon listening to element operation i automatically think Keith Morris from Circle Jerks, the tracks themselves have a flavour of that preeminent hardcore punk mixed with the pop-rock stylings of sonic youth and the lemonheads. this is a brutally lo-fi and totally art for art's sake kinda record. it's catchy, yet outsider. the beats per minute reach up to 260 on some songs, but more often they are in the 180-190 range which makes for some excited songs. the vocals are varied as are the...

The music may have started as something along light ambient, but it has been drastically worked into results that are breathtaking. Most of the album stands up to it's promises. If you enjoyed previous releases, then you will absolutely adore this follow up.
This is our 50th release from the label, and we thank all the bands that have devoted their time and effort and given us the opportunity to release their music. There are a total of 50 tracks some are from previous releases and some are unreleased material. Please enjoy these tracks, and we are also selling limited cdr's at our merch store as well.
Now it’s the turn of i am esper to compose his own soundscape in a true ambient sense. Sunrise over the Atlantic delves into all types of music within this genre. True lovers of ambient music will be spellbound. Ambient music better than this will not be easy to find.
Our favourite lo-fi indie rocker is back. Jason combines lo-fi and indie together in all it's glory for some outrageous and funny takes on society and general living.

how to describe the sound of trans atlantic, its surreal and trippy, and oh so avant. The mood here appealing, this sort of wierdness may not be on your everyday listening menu, but it's a fine example of the form created within. there are enough sonic embellishments to captivate the listener.

There's no mystery that the guitar has been an instrument of derision within the experimental scene, and that this CD with its recognizably pianistic guitar sounds of strumming and vocal's is in a dimension, a kinda Syd Barret toning way. It is the musical picture of a musician looking toward the future, or could it be the past, one has to think for a moment. This is indead a very interesting album full of "i guess" improvisations where all kinds of folk, avant styles come together,...

A mixture of previously unreleased tracks meant for compilations (that, for reasons left unwritten, never materialized), remixed detrius from 2002-2004, and new material created in 2010. This is an album best enjoyed through headphones. "Antithesis" is eleven tracks of highly experimental avant-garde power-electronics and noise. Nevertheless, although there is an emphasis on crazed improvisational distortion, analog mutations, and industrial atmospherics which furtively border into...

Its a crazy crazy world of electronics.... Darkslider knows how to make noisy and down-right dirty abstract sounds. This is a 20 minute opus of short tunes, each one being one minute or less in length. There's a great deal of clashing/harsh sounds across the 20 tracks of 'Noise In Under A Minute, from the opening almost "dronish" #1, continuing into the frantic #2 and so on and so on the tracks keep coming. At certain times it gets darker, with 'Sheddan's Foray' one of the more...

Excellent dark music for fans of drone music, ambient electronica and doom. 4 tracks of deliciously dark, mystical, and occult inspired tracks that weave it's way through atmospheric forests and foggy swamps. Minimalistic, bleak, dark, and very haunting....what more do you need?
straight outta brooklyn,ny chris m makes one of the darkest sounds i have heard in a long time. droning ambient music in almost a classical nature.
This music moves multi-layered harmonic pulses, which are thoughtfully composed by sounds seemingly for the largest part played like keyboards, but which move like natural inorganic sounds.

The new CD, For Film, harshly winds in and out tune after tune. Thius is quite a noisy escapist roam through or to nowhere in particular. The music brings in a nasty atmosphere of a distorted reality, all of this abstraction is a clear sign of the times. We are all marooned on this electronic island, as we approach curves and bends. Darkslider uses various electronic instruments, and doesn't march in line with accepted stuff that most experimental artists convey and use. The music is like...

Sid hails from Evanston, IL, USA, and the clean boys from Aarhus, Denmark, finishing up on a succesful tour in europe in may 2010. This demo offers justice in the form of brilliance of transition and ambietic composition that reflects, more than atmosphere of sound. Esoteric ambient and melodic guitar metal, almost symphonic and dark as once was. Such a mixture of dissonant feeling and mature texture throughout this two track beauty.
Topics: melodic metal, experimental, metal, black metal, new york
Some purists go for evolving dissonant harmonies of metallic drones and resonances, extreme low frequency rumbles and machine noises, perhaps supplemented by vast atmospherics. With a "dark" and dissonant feel, this album uses sonic spaces for frightening, bottom-heavy sounds such as deep drones. This may not be everyone's idea of a culinary delight, but musically speaking this is sheer brilliance.
Experimenting with electronics. Lets call his sounds noise & non-music. This is one long sound collages, musique-conreté, cut-up of sound manipulation & experiments.

Split release by German Duo The Domesticated Man and To-Bo. Der Domestizierte Mensch (The Domesticated Man) track is sculpted and impeccably structured. This is done with cold precision that has a techno-like pulse to it. To-Bo's track is full-on noise. The track is so crunchy and desolate that you cannot help but think of some of the better noise artists around. Regardless of the hype and buzz, Marvin and Bodo have a plan and have persevered as a collective to see it through.
